Manchester Children's Book Festival is go!

The Manchester Children's Book Festival is a biennial celebration hosted by the Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy and the Manchester Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University. It kicked off yesterday and runs until 8 July, with a range of events across Manchester at MMU, libraries, galleries and museums. More information on what you can expect can be found here. This Saturday (30 June), there is a Family Fun Day, with author readings and free workshops and arts and crafts activities at the Manchester Metropolitan University’s All Saints Campus (on Oxford Road). Click here for more.

Kevin Danson is part of the team behind MCBC and he's very excited about one event in particular: "This year, we are launching a Reading & Writing Relay from Monday 2 - Friday 6 July across the globe. Starting at Longsight Library with a reading from Cathy Cassidy, the physical relay will turn virtual, allowing everyone to get involved wherever you are, and show your support. For further details on how to get your coverage on our relay blog and see your location on our relay map, click here."
